It's definetely the right time to buy, with prices at a 10 year low, homes are affordable again. Also, even though the mortgage market is tight, the rates are very low and are expected to stay under 6% until at least mid 2011. That means today's buyer can purchase a much nicer property than you could have 5 years ago. In my market area I have noticed that prices have stabilized and in some cases they are starting to slowly climb again. For those waiting for the bottom of the market, I think that moment is now and it may pass you by if you don't act now.
